The only exceptional thing about this skirt is the color. The sizing is way off. As a sewer, I San tell you that wide wale corduroy requires additional seam allowance because it is bulkier than other fabrics. The waistband is way too tight and the pockets are nonfunctional! The length is impractical. When sitting down, you have to keep yanking on the skirt, only to realize it’s futile! This skirt is at least one size too skinny and mini! I gave it a two instead of a one only because the olive color is beautiful. This skirt is one for the TEEN department! I have to agree with others that Talbot’s quality waivers these days. Perhaps the newer heads of the company are not as concerned with customer satisfaction; what a shame.Date published: 2021-03-13

I have been dismayed that shirts and pants with geometric patterns do not match at the side seams. Exactly what DOES make Talbots special any more? I really wish I had not gotten rid of my professional and other clothes that I got from Talbots 15-20 years ago. They were very classy, well made and timeless. I got the green and the pinkish red color. I cannot return or exchange for size because of final sale. Even at $20 each they weren’t worth buying. Rated 3 out of5 byHello fromSmall waist; hem too short; weird “pockets”This skirt runs small. I ordered my normal size 6 (I’m 5’4” and 129 lbs.) but the waist is tight. I have a small waist, but this sizing is off. The hem is much higher above the knee than the model’s photo on this website. The hem is almost 2 inches above my knee. I will probably wear tights because I don’t feel comfortable with how short the skirt is in the front and back. Also, the fake pockets are in a weird location. I had to look at the website to see how the model was wearing the skirt. Usually this type of pocket should be in the back, but these fake pockets are located on the front! Overall, I like the Shiraz color and the sale price. I would have returned the skirt if I paid full price.Date published: 2021-02-13
