I like that it is right at the knee, rather than so long that a petite person like me is dragged down to appearing very short! The fabric is reasonably soft and it is a cute skirt. It is almost like a houndstooth check, but without the extra little design threads off of the main diamond. I wore it to our first Sunday back to indoor church for Ash Wednesday February 2021, pairing it with black tights and flat black nearly-knee-high boots, the black Sabrina Merino wool sweater, and the black fur-collared down vest. I was nice and toasty and glad for the opportunity to wear a skirt out.I am 5'6", size 10 "curvy-bottomed" with long slim legs, and A-line skirts do not enhance my figure. Pencil skirts can work pretty well for me, but can be constraining. This skirt is just a happy in-between, and looks great while still offering ample mobility (I ran some errands while still wearing it, and never thought about it).
